Re: Mr. Stanshall's Very Own Thread -

Charlay served up the Southern Thanksgiving?  may I ask if you had artichoke dip?  squash casserole?  sweet potatoes with orange juice and pineapple with miniature marshmallows caramelized on top?  you know why the mini-mallows are key here?  For preserving the meringue when serving portions.  ham?  pecan pie?  I know you had biscuits.

Giblet gravy or go home.  Giblet and mushroom.  With tiny bits of chiffonade parsley.

deets man.

I sequestered a loaf pan of wicked stuffing and later made squares of it, butterflied the pieces, broiled them, and late at night and have been munching them with black currant jam and red pepper jelly.

Re: Mr. Stanshall's Very Own Thread -

Mama and Mrs. WM cooked up turkey with giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes with the sweet sauce including the mini-mallows, homemade rolls, my mom's melt-in-your-mouth squash casserole, cranberry sauce, and then for dessert, some buttery baked apples on top of the homemade rolls.  I washed it all down with sweet tea and then my dad made a pot of Maxwell House for the dessert.  Wooo buddy!

Sounds good to me.   And regarding the squash casserole, she sometimes substitutes that for dressing/stuffing. Not sure if she's ever had both in the spread.  Her squash casserole has cornbread in it.  Ahhhh!  It's so good!   I could get the recipe for you.  Everyone loves the stuff.

Dear Mr. Stanshall,

Out of interest, what trainers kept you going through the 80s...?
