The very dark brown belt, I find, is the navy tie of belts, a real chameleon. It seems to work with everything.

I mean very very dark brown. It works with black shoes.

One thing I do find myself doing more often is wearing a belt with of a similar colour or colour value to the trousers.

Re: Ivy League style for today

And I've got the self-same shirt, Moose!   Lovely stuff.

Today I'm:

White Brooks shirt - The kind with those little buttons on the collar.  Do you know them?
Navy cotton crewneck from LL Bean nicely fading after many trips through the washing machine. The cotton has gone nice & hard too.
Tan Needlecord 5 pocket jobs.
Grey/Grey/Grey Argyles.
Me slippers.

I'll put some Weejuns on when I stagger out of here at lunchtime...  Wine Penny, I think.

... And now it's raining...

... So I'll wear my rubber soled Rockport Pennys (Pennies?) instead.

Shooey is encouraging me to go for Oysters and Champagne today when the chippy was more on my mind...

So I will compromise and go here:

http://www.fishers-restaurant.com/bristol/index.htm

Very good & economical set lunches as well as everything else. They even do a two course five pound menu and an eight pound one as well.

I shall sit in the corner table & read Rumple. I'm especially fond of the waitress with the cascading hair in there, although everybody else is very nice too. She always says "Of course you can!" when I order in that way of mine which I have been told is strange: "... And could I have a glass of your Chenin Blanc with that please?"

Of course I can.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Micky was last seen on The Curric. under his old AAAC name. We miss him, but we miss 'Ted' his earlier creation even more. 'Young Guy' on AAAT was fun too. That he was also an AAAC Mod. made Mike all the more delightful to us.

I'm sorry that I once told him to go and drink petrol...

Patrick - I see you as an Ivy 'Walden' figure up there on the mountain in rural America. Tell me it's all true.
