A visit to my accountant this afternoon!  I like him but it reminds me of Tax bills and horrible things like that!

Forced myself out into the drizzle to go to the strutton ground shoe shop. It closed! on holiday for 3 weeks.
No looking at brogues for me.

You should have carried on walking up to Channel Four and scrounged a drink.

Re: Mumble, Grumble...

baron of picadilly is closing down.
my first aquascutum club check scarf came from there in 81. i was 19 and too scared to go into the regent street shop so went to baron and could not have received more courteous service. 15 quid for a scarf, my grandma said i needed my head examined. i will miss baron of picadilly. i certainly miss my dear old grandma.
if anyone is interested, baron are flogging off viyella shirts and smedley cotton for less than the price of a poxy abercrombie "pre distressed" hoodie.

Re: Mumble, Grumble...

currently £57 if i remember correctly. a bargain as they last forever and are not made anymore. more reductions would seem inevitable before they close, they certainly have a lot of stock to shift. bearing in mind there's a shop in jermyn st doing numbered harris tweed jackets for £99, they are not without competition.

Re: Mumble, Grumble...

Drivers who, instead of signaling, braking, and making a normal turn into a driveway or intersecting street from the travel lane, instead pull wayyy over to the side of the road and drive along slowly for half a block in the breakdown lane before making the turn.  I have an especial bone to pick with those who do this on narrow roads, making it impossible to pass them for fear of smacking into oncoming traffic.

Someone, somewhere, at a driving school has to be teaching this irritating behavior.  It crosses racial, gender, and age lines.
