... I'd like to see more Trads here too.
The 'Tradly' Trads won't come & I wouldn't expect them to. The harsh light of day would be bad for their compexions.
But the Thinking Trads who are learning, growing, evolving, exploring are absolutely my kind of people.
What's the jump from Trad to Ivy League? Merely being better informed.

Gone all economy today:
sky/blue white large gingham BD (great collar) - Ye Olde M&S
black merino cardigan - cheap Italian make (TK Maxx)
1947 Levi 501's
Heavy brown leather belt - supermarket
blue cotton socks
'Natural' colour dessies - Made in Portugal and bought ultra cheap on hols
1963 Rolex Submariner watch (a bargain but not so cheap!)

Wow, thanks guys. I didn't really expect all that.
That is one of only two point collars I have. I usually pin them, but I was observing at a local high school, and try to keep it simple when I go out there.
Otherwise I mostly wear BD's with ties/suits.
Conor
Oh, and Russell, thanks for the respect, but what do you think of the clothes?
Conor
'vintage' Gitman bros blue/white university stripe button down rolled sleeves and untucked (its been a hot one)
white tee shirt
albam chinos with turned up hems
white keds
fresh hair cut a la Steve Mcqueen in Bullitt (but less cool...)
simple, if not a bit preppy.

Thanks for the reply Russell. I appreciate it, especially, as Alex said, that it was constructive.
I don't suppose I'll be posting very many more pictures here. Nothing against you all but it doesn't seem like many people like my pictures, and that's fine. It is your house after all. I'm trying to play nice and actually contribute this time around.

No Jim, I certainly wasn't talking about you. I really did appreciate your comments because they were constructive and still complimentary (you told me what you think I did right and what I still needed to work on). I was mainly referring to the comments in the other thread.

if the 'orrible old EX hadn't taken the camera, there would be pics, but alas.....
navy blue ralph lauren polo
sperry bluepoint penny loafers
great-grandfather's Omega seamaster
"special" Bills m2......why special?
I picked this pair up a few weeks ago @ one of my fav thrift stores. First pair of genuine Bills khakis. On my slim frame, they were plenty roomy, and a touch long, but the rise and waist are perfection.
Seeing as there were a whopping $2, and I have a bit of skill with the sewing machine, I decided to experiment this afternoon. Managed to take out a lot of that extra material, much slimmer and tapered now, and put turn-ups on them.
Overall they look much better, to me at least. I can hear the gasps of purists far and wide, but in keeping with character don't care. I took pants I liked, and with a small amount of work made them even more likable! I may take a bit out of the seat next, since I have inherited white boy flat ass.
Glad I did the work, these look great!
black shell Florsheim Yuma loafers, silver-grey mercerised cotton socks (from Aldi, back from when they used to stock socks next to the bin bags)
mid-grey extra-slim canvas jeans (H&M), 1" black webbing belt w. gold-filled engine-turned slide buckle
white Sero 'The Purist' BD, bronze/black diagonal graduated stripe 2,5" 'Wemlon by Wembley' tie ('for brown, olive or black suit')
Brooks charcoal herringbone sack jacket
Where are you there Moose. It looks a bit like Newcastle Quayside?
Yeah, flew over there this afternoon for the photo shooting
Oh you glamorous fashionista!!
Looks great btw.
