J.Simons khakis

Hello

Pleased to report that the 'J.Simons khaki', featuring a narrower leg and more authentically late 1950s/early 60s cut, is in an advanced stage of development. All being well we may be seeing them in the next few months. There is life in the old place yet.

Yours in mod,

GG

Re: J.Simons khakis

Every time I hit rock bottom Mr. Simons sends me a reason to carry on.

True story: I was in Kingston Hospital in 80-something with a bad OD from 'something' from the Surbiton YMCA - You know, right by Sainsbury's - And there I lay in those horrible stiff sheets which smelled of washing up liquid for some reason after a stomach pump and on the radio (Capital? No idea.) came a Georgie track.

True that.

Nothing to show off about - Just Georgie doing Sunny:

And I cracked a grin and reached for me Weejuns.

I should write more about my adventures I think...

Re: J.Simons khakis

My best OD took me to St. Thomas' - I went straight to Brown's for Afternoon tea after that one. By magic JS sent Paddy & Jim to my bedside that time 'round.

The one I had in Brighton was less fun, but I still managed to have a laugh. What was that place right on the beach called? There was The Shark Bar I think & a place called Zoom? That time my guardian Ivy Angel sent two fantastically strong Lesbians to look after me.

They make these drugs far too strong you know. Either that or they cut them with Vim or something. Why is there no industry standard in club toilets?

Re: J.Simons khakis

I've been off focus lately and have failed in my duty to let you know, as if you didn't already, that these are now in stock in J.Simons London store. Priced £79, good twill, proper high plain front, narrow leg, 16" bottom. Piss all over Bill's Flared Khakis. The J.Simons Apparel Company is properly born. Also in stock now is the J.Simons Harrington - some subtle twists on the Grenson/Bramble version. More to come. I'll put stuff on the website when I have some pics.

Aye.

Business is business.

If I owned a shop I wouldn't sell anything. I'd just scowl at anybody who came in & ask them why they didn't have any good clothes already.

wink

^I can never get that website to work. Does it only work if you're in the UK?

Thanks Staceyboy, but its a home MacBook and all I get is an advert for Darts and Nationwide. I guess I shall never know the delights of those khakis.

Re: J.Simons khakis

Yes, have had mine a couple of weeks, the fit is just as described, the colour is even better. Hope we can still get them irrespective of what happens to the shop or I'll be buying several and hope my waist line stays the same!

Mine arrived - very happy with them too.  Very similar to Bills in terms of quality but with a fantastic cut and shape.  Really great.

Re: J.Simons khakis

For those who have tried them on, how is the sizing? Should I just order the same size as my higher-waisted 501s and most khakis? I won't be in London anytime soon...

Re: J.Simons khakis

I am generally a 32 or 33 waist in most pants.  Levis 1947s I am a 34 and a 34 in these khakis fits me perfectly.  Hard to say - probably means they fit true to size / my other pants are vanity sized......

They don't come in 33, just even sizes....
