Oh yes.  All I demand of them nowadays is that they be comfortable and don't concertina.  Falke seem best - but not necessarily Argyle - but not Pantherella.  However, even Falke acquire holes easily. 
Preferred colours these days: subdued shading gradually to black.  Grey socks to grey knitwear.  For instance.
