To my mind the look fits late 50s/early 60s Danish Modern. Hans Wegner or Finn Juhl. Or maybe the nice Hvidt & Molgaard chair in Don Draper's office.

The Chippendale as above is a bit overstated for my taste. I prefer something a little tamer.
