Streets paved with Tweed...

Hello Chaps,
Though this is my first post i love this forum and have been perusing it for a while.
After years of thinking i was of the mod persuasion (though at the same time wondering why most of the other so called 'mods' usually wore somewhat dubious shoes and haircuts) i came to realise that everything i liked about mod was originally or entirely Ivy.
Anyway, i recently moved to London for university and am really looking forward to all the Ivy resources that weren't available to me in the stix, J. Simons in particular!
Can anyone recommend anywhere that will give a good haircut? I like a slight grown out college boy look but am worried that if i chose somewhere on my own i'll be ignoring somewhere that will give me exactly what i want!
Also after slogging away over the summer i've earned enough to have a jacket (slim lapelled undarted sack, preferably in a tweed/check) made for me birthday, i've seen people recommend George in Harringay, would he give me what i'm after? What would the damage be approx?
I know i can probably find all this info if i search (i know there have been others like me asking similar questions) but i just wanted an excuse to write on this forum!
Cheers
Guy

Chat to Chris_H about George, maybe?

Are 'Blades' still going? Their barbers near St. James' tube was very afforable and good. Trumpers/Truefitt style, but cheaper!

Welcome, I'm new here myself, and from a similar line of thought as yourself.
Enjoy

Cheers Colin, i've seen from a previous post of yours that you have some of the Albam chinos? What's the fit like? Also, any luck with your suit? (I've been reading these forums from a far for a while!)

Re: Streets paved with Tweed...

another welcome......no advice from me, just a compliment on a sweet avatar pic!

Some people hate the English, I don't, they're just wankers. We, on the other hand, were colonized by wankers, Can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by...

Let me know how you get on if you do get George to make you a jacket. Something I've thought about doing myself.  I'd also be interested to hear about the Albam chinos.

Chris_H is really the one to talk about this, but George just uses a whisper of the lightest canvas on the shoulder to iron out any 'bumps'.

If I didn't live so far away I'd be there now.
