Lovely.

Brown Tweed for me today too - J. Press from when they used to be J. Press - And I found one of those mints they give you with the bill in certain restaurants in one of the pockets. I shall save it as a treat for later.

Khaki Khakis & Grey Sweatshirt again with a White Polo shirt underneath. Grey socks & Heavy Duty Boatshoes from Bean.

^ Very Collegiate I think...

Family lunch out today & then the museum.  What are you up to?

Dark brown Pal Zileri chinos, vintage cloth button oxford - kind of a pyjama green/orange/purple/blue. Sadly its a RL, but their vintage cloth is worthwhile - if you can hide the logo, and are with square cats who cannot tell a collar role from a collar bone.

Currently digging Pacific Jazz 1224 Chet Baker and Crew, "Revelation" to be exact, an extra fine Gerry Mulligan composition.

Later, black Barbour and C&J espresso shotgun brogues.  Back into Den Haag to return the Omega Speedmaster for only its third repair under guarantee in a year. Me thinks, the rugged, reliability and performance that attracted the new Bond's away from Rolex is no more.

Draped and sculpted hep cat suit - as worn by His Royal Hepness, Cab Calloway

Re: Ivy League style for today

Currently sporting 'washing machine Ivy' this morning. Listening to "The Bossa Nova Exciting Jazz Samba Rhythms Vol.1" CD but cleaning up coffee which is all over me and the Giant vibrator floor. Somehow managed to shatter the glass of a large and full cafetierre. God knows how!? Particularly embarrassing in front of lady friend. Sad too that it was the last of my Spanish Nescafe ground "Bonka" variety. Yes, BONKA. Bought as a jokey present for me just for the packaging by colleague on holiday but actually very, very nice. Must source some more.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I imagine that look would have quite limited appeal on here Jim.

Think the Teamsters from 'On the waterfront' or the dissillusioned American ex-servicemen who formed motorcycle gangs. The photos of Weegee. 'Angels with Dirty faces', 'Someone up there likes me'.
Newsboy caps, ex-service khakis rolled over Red Wing work or engineer boots. Loose work Levis. Chambrey shirts, Checked loop work shirts. Marine Corps grey sweatshirts. white t's. Plaid Hunting coats, Pea coats, Denim chore jackets. Battered leather flying jackets. Yes, Weejuns too.
The Japanese seem to have homed in on this look and are producing some fantastic reproduction garments.
Retro, Americana, Heavy Ivy? Call it what you want, but it does it for me more than a boat shoe... Anyone else?
