The End Of Another Ivy Day...

If our mornings were scented by coffee and polish at The Ivy Shop then the smell of the bleach put down the lavvy out back bookended our days.

An 'old school', chlorine-heavy bleach as I recall. A Swimming Pool scent.

No frills, no fuss. Nothing perfumed or feminine.

Very Ivy Shop style.

How hard it is to talk of that lavvy to those who never made it out the back of the shop...

But that's a post for another day.

Jim. You were a saturday boy for 2 minutes and that has shaped your whole life has it? Surely something else in your life is worth mentioning? I worked on the Kings Road through Punk Rock. DJ'd through new Romantic, Ran clubs through Indie. Played in bands, worked on 'The Tube'. Now run Magazines. Yet I don't really want to bore every fucker with all that shit. But you want to tell us how you cleaned the bogs 20 years ago in a little fuckin shop...

I never cleaned the IvyLav. I can't claim that distinction.

I did hoover up though & polish the shoes...

^ And there's another two threads in the making.

Do you know this forum could be so much better in the right hands. Knock off all this 'Memory lane' shite and start putting some ideas together to improve the content. Rather than dragging it down with the same old mediocre shit day in and day out. It's like watching a fuckin' dying animal. Waiting to be put out of it's misery... Maybe time to go Jim?

See?

Your old Uncle can still tickle you even when you've got the grumps.

I love it when you are cutting and camp, like an Oscar Wilde in beefrolls. I just don't dig you and Gibson as the Ivy Compo and Cleggy...
