He was on the Ed Sullivan Show - like The Beatles.

So he must have been a big cheese. Looks a UK rat pack wannabee.
I just remember him from the days when there were only two black and white channels. You watched it all anyway, because you were too young to know any better. 'Swinging, Dodgy !!!'
Jack Hargreaves was the Godfather of Country Clothing by the way - the Viceroy of Viyella, Sir Tweedy personified. I do remember wishing his show would end and something better would come on - 'Ready, Steady, Go' maybe.
Kingy baby. Anyone who digs Dickie is cool by me.
He was a Rat pack wannabe you're right. But when the British Rat Pack was Ronnie Corbett, Brucie, Tarby, and Kenny Lynch as Sammy it's not quite the same. More of a Gerbil Pack.
I always remember him singing "It went straight down the middle..." in golfing gear on some show.
He was big news though in the 60's and 70's...
Now Jack Hargreaves, a god in tweed... Did you fancy Bunty off 'How'?

I sure did fancy Bunty, Brother B. As for Dickie Henderson it used to be a standing joke in my family how much my father hated him. And I mean REALLY hated him - and for no apparent reason that we could deduce. When asked why he detested that particular king of early evening ITV he would just reply “Because I do”. We still mention it now and get the same response. We think that they must have crossed swords in a previous life.

I wondered if that was more of a beret the elephant was sporting...?
I think that's on the Strand outside - What is it? - Australia House?
