Re: Ivy League style for today

Conor, I have a hard time imagining that your tie will thank you in the morning for being thus pricked.

Probably not. I purposely chose a tie I don't wear often (or at all to my knowledge).

Mmm, sensible.  Jacket looks nice, though.

I don't recall seeing the truck before, Patrick.  It lends a nice touch of Yankee authenticity.

Three on the tree. 1983 F100. Straight six 302. Just got it back from the garage, so it's happy. Needs a new windshield though, and it's living at the newspaper parking lot until I get it re-registered.

I think "Three On the Tree and Twin Vents" could be an Ivy slogan.

Not a van, a but pick-up truck it. Gotta say driving one makes one feel - er - very manly. A mate of mine used to own a 1982 Chevy Blazer and driving it was a kick-ass experience, compared to the smallish european cars i normally used to drive. I was a Fiat Uno owner back then lol

I enjoy hopping out of that bomb in full regalia. Surface rust is a great complementary color.

I hate this weather, after growing up in alabama I have never gotten acclimated to these winters.

This is me wanting to move to California

Some people hate the English, I don't, they're just wankers. We, on the other hand, were colonized by wankers, Can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by...

Ah, but Patrick is a Vermonter, Kingstonian.  Things are different there.  Even if they weren't, Patrick is not the usual tailor's dummy who parades himself on the fora.  He's a genuine personality.  I find the truck wonderfully consistent with the Patrick Methods.  I very much doubt any other forumite could, if you will forgive the expression, rock that truck.

No, Kelp.  We're firmly in the 21st century, post-squishy-sensitive era.  Catch up, Old Top.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Next time Patrick wears a suit with his pickup, i'd love it if he would wear a trucker cap, not just a usual baseball cap, but a big high fronted redneck truckers cap.

l also love the American word "pickup", that's such a cool word for a truck. cool.  We call `em `oversized utes' over here.

Blokes in soots drivin' yoots......l wanna be that guy one day. cool

Put me down as a fan of Blokedom too.  To be a bloke is my version of being a mensch.

Here's to proper blokes in proper shoos.

^ Look at the style of the building. This snap is from 1914. The building itself is 1904... So these shoes were never handsewn in little half-timbered thatched cotteges after all?  Blimey!
