Re: For Sale -

The workhorse, a vintage Brooks Brothers makers black/white herringbone sack, this has all the nice details, 3/2 roll, patch and flap pockets, welted seams and 3/4 lined. A tagged size of 41 reg and apart from losing some of its nap at the elbows looks close to dead stock.
Shoulders 18 1/8
Chest 22
Shoulder to cuff 24 1/2
Length 30 1/2.

2 Suits on deck, both 1960s vintage, both on the shortish side of 38R.

First up is a vintage Richman Brothers pinstripe 3/2 sack suit with lapped seams, hooked vent, narrow lapels.  Charcoal grey worsted wool with a slight flannely nap and a sliver pinstripe.
41 chest, 17 shoulder, 24.5 sleeve, 31.25 length including collar, 32.5 waist (another 1.5 to let out safely), 27 inseam (I'm 5'10 and these are perfect no-break on me) with cuffs, 12 rise, 8 bottom.

Als I have a "root beer" brown gabardine 3 season weight 3/2 suit tailored by Fashion Craft for Roberts Mens Store in Alliance Ohio.  Center vent and slim tapered trousers.  The fabric is shiny but not sharkskin like, with lots of flecks of color.
40.25 chest, 17 shoulder, 24.5 sleeve, 30.25 length including collar, 33 waist (no room), 28 inseam no cuffs, 12 rise, 8 bottoms.

Asking 90 bucks each shipped US, 150 shipped for both.  PM me if you're in the UK.
PM me with interest.  Both suits are in great condition.

Re: For Sale -

someone mentioned Uniqlo cords on here recently...

Uniqlo dark grey jeans-style cords, new+unworn - Waist 34, Length 34 (quite slim cut - 16" bottoms, mid-thigh width about 20/21")
20 quid

http://bongolia.org/images/sales/grey-cords.jpg

also
Levis cream/beige 551 (red tab) good condition - Waist 34, length 32 approx (shortened)
ebay buy, came up a bit smaller than the 551 white tabs, hence sale. these are denim/twill 551s, not cord or bedford cord. button fly
measure as: Waist 33" ish, bottoms 16", mid-thigh 20"
7.50

Re: For Sale -

I bought this amazing harrington on ebay over christmas and the bloody seller said 'use the measurements here not the tag size"

his measurements were exactly the same as my favourite vintage model g9 so I bought it but the idiot measured it wrong so it's too small for me in sleeve length.

It's a stunning jacket made for top end retailer Nordstrom in the 80s reversible tan corduroy and blue melton wool. It's stone mint condition.

I just want to get back my £50 that it cost me with shipping if anyone's interested? Free shipping in UK, outside please ask me.

The jacket is marked M for medium and is from a time when Medium was medium and not like a modern one - XL re-badged to make people feel better about their true size.

Those all important measurements are:

Chest 21 inches pit to pit
inside sleeve 19 inches pit to cuff
outside sleeve length 33 inches (measured from centre of neck to cuff like a dress shirt measurement)
overall length 25 (measured down back from base of neck band to bottom waistband)
shoulder width 18 inches - The jacket has raglan sleeves so this is the only measurement that is a guide taken where shoulders should be.
All other measurements are firm!

I'm 6ft 2 inches size 40 and normally wear a Baracuta 40 slimfit or a 42 or L in their much tighter and narrower vintage fit, but for this jacket you should ideally be less than 6ft i should guess.

Really am peeved to have to sell it, but I know it will go to a good home.

There really are NO signs of wear at all, no holes rips, moths, fraying or anything. It looks like the jacket was simply put away in a closet for 25 years or so.

You can pay by Paypal.

Re: For Sale -

Nice. I have a brown cord Fred perry harrington which I seldom wear.

I've always had a problem being 6'2, as harrington tend to come up a little short. I have a fantastic lacoste izod harrington, not great quality, but true 'natural' with superb madras lining which I love but it's too short - I imagine that was the cut during the era.

On a side not would it be possible/worth having the lining put onto another harrington which fits a bit longer?

Sorry to hijack the thread - but it's not worthy of a new thread.

Re: For Sale -

HI guys,

yeah, you can all see why I bought it, and I was really pissed when it didn't fit and I checked the measurements the guy gave. 1 inch longer in body and 1 inch on sleeve, which would have been a perfect 'vintage' fit, but there you go.

a LOT of interest on this from behind the scenes I must say. I've been in London all day and just got home so will reply to everyone who PMd me

I have quite a lot of stuff I'ved picked up in recent months that the sellers have mis measured including a beautiful kelly green plaid pendleton S/S BD. It drives me nuts but I can't leave neg feedback cos I spend a lot of time trying to persuade old geezers in the US to please please ship to me in england.

I'll post some more things when I get time over next few days. Would be great if the stuff goes to a good home and happy just to recylce the cost of items.

Re: For Sale -

Got my size wrong and no amount of toe-crunching will make up for it, so to my great irritation, these Bass Weejuns are up for grabs.

9D, Bass Weejuns, burgundy. Made in El Salvador. Great condition and lightly worn except for what looks like tiny paint spatters on the left one and some smudging where the previous owner tried to remove it.

I'd like to get my money back on these, so £30 inc postage to UK, £35 EU.

Re: For Sale -

Hmmmmm - The advert goes or you do. Toss a coin?

The jacket in question is long gone now.

What I'll do now is to ban any MoFo with an advert siggy from here on in. Which means I guess we'll be getting even more of these now ...
Another plan is not to ban any of you but just to rip the piss out of you all instead.
Actually, I think I like that idea more.

So let's start here...

What rude stuff can we say to this poser/poster?

Re: For Sale -

Quite a bit of stuff here so I will post them item by item so I can comment when they've gone.

First up is:

Really nice kelly green plaid Pendleton buttondown with short sleeves and rear collar button and locker loop. Condition is perfect except for small amount of collar grime on the satin inner collar. This should come out with wash, but I haven't touched the shirt since it arrived.

US Ebay Seller measured either blind or in the dark, so I have to sell it on.

Marked M  - 15/15.5 this is definitely a modern Small, sizes are

17" shoulder seam to seam
30" length from back bottom of collar
20" chest
15" collar

£20 + £3 post UK £4.25 EU - anyone else I can quote for.
