I have an annoyingly squeaky Bass weejun and wonder if anyone has any solutions - other than chuck them out of course!
Thanks
I thought you were complaining about my high pitched excitement when the postman came today
Is it the heel block squeaking when you walk? you may be able to cure that by some extra nails or prise it open a bit and insert some heavy duty glue.
A bit of talc sometimes helps.
Although I don't really mind the odd squeak from my shoes.
I imagine yours going 'Weej! Weej! Weej!' as you walk...
It happened the same thing to me, with a pair of Weejuns bought off an outlet near San Fran.
It was that tiny iron bit (looks like a fork) inside one of the sole that got damaged or so. Had them removed and no more squeaky noise since then. I had to have them both completely resoled and heeled (the cost of the whole thing was higher than the price I had payed for the shoes, actually..)

If it's the shank as Daniele suggests there's nothing you can do except surgery and resole!
Thanks guys.
I think it could be as Daniele suggests although they have done it pretty much from new. Is there a recommended Weejun repairer in UK?
Weejun - I can see why you were squeaking!
One of the absolute best shoe repairers in south of england is Zoralakis (spelling?) in Eversholt St near Euston Station. He does contract work for Gucci among others and has had that account for about 25 years at least. Repairing the old properly made gucci loafers was beyond the ken of 99% of shoe repair joints.
When I found my broken down Weejun 2 eyelet lace ups in LA in 99 I got him to a do a full resole and they were like new.
John Rushton uses him (sorry John, secret's out!) for all his repairs too.

For wine Weejuns, I'd recommend shallots. YMMV.
brideshead has re-visited. HAAAAAAA! a joke, from buddy to buddies.
