Good stuff Weejun. I like this kind of thing, alot. Especially topped off with the Wool G9. Perfect under the radar Americana. The kids wouldn't get it at all, that's why it's perfecr. Also, seeing those Weejuns makes me realize how terrible my modern tan Logans are by comparison.

thanks Scarlet Street. even the sizing of these plastic plug heel models is different to later Wilton made ones. These are supposed to be 10.5D but really are a US 11E, compounded by the fact that the leather is thick but very supple.

Compared to my size 10 mid 80s Wiltons they are nearly 1 inch longer.

However, having found these babies, some thicker socks and some insoles should do the trick.

I nearly bought those tan Logans on so many occasions but there was always something not quite as I remembered my old natural ones and it's that these have all natural stitching and un-dyed sole / heel edges whereas the Logan has a dark sole and mixed stitching. Those modern Logans are still way better than the brush off ones though...

It's all good. Mention of Martin Crane is timely. I've always thought of him as something of a totem of what it used to say on the JS brown bag:

"Traditional American Clothing."

Re: Ivy League style for today

A rare tie day today - taking exams. I won't write oral exams, because I'm not gonna get t-shirts made up :-)

J. Crew dark brown corduroy jacket, natural shoulders, darted
Brooks Makers U.S.A. OCBD University stripe - boy are the old brooks shirts nice, and they fit even in non-slim fit versions. Wide array of different fits in my old makers ones tho
Black skinny knit tie
Uniqlo vintage chinos
light grey socks
too smal dark brown dessies

Exactly Moose, it takes focus, stamina and a bit of luck.

And perhaps a job involving computer "work".
