a timely topic, having just turned 40 a couple weeks back...
but i'm still stuck in "youth revolt" mode thanks to looking closer to 30 than 40, full head of (no grey) hair, waistline trimmer than when I was 30. So i still like wearing my DMs and doing that whole thing, going to punk shows etc. I almost find that dressing nicer, like today I'm wearing a tweed jacket with jumper and buttondown shirt, I look and FEEL older, which I always struggle at odds with.
The problem is in life, there's a time when you're too young and then suddenly you're too old.
Some of the best songs about ageing come from Leonard Cohen. And he's aged particulary well, not surprising as his favourite wine is about a 450 Euros a pop.
