Those BTS have long had the email predicting that young Chens would have to do a book, more than likely with old Boyer, after the English Ivy book and that it would have to have an add-on to try to surpass those who got there first...
Check the Ivy-Sty blog today and see it all happening!
The exhibit idea is also mine - One I've talked about both BTS & online with my contacts at Bath University, The American Museum in England and The Museum of Costume in Bath (Now renamed 'Fashion').
You see how the world actually works?
- John Simons influences John Gall & me. J.G. produces the first Ivy book with his good friend, the mighty Graham Marsh, I troll up a storm online sucking in all I can...
And those sucked in then suck in others...
... And John Simons, with a shrug, has created, yet again, quite the zeitgeist. Never his intention.
- But no other fucker gets the credit for any this.
Here's to John - The Guv.
No Mr. Simons, no me, no me no...
but i really am just jim.
Top!
Well... As you might imagine.... Lots of talk about this - Which 'I' absolutely welcome.
Harris is actually very little to do with 'Trad'. The more he was encouraged, the more he fantasised. Take away that encouragement and would he have run his mouth off in quite the way that he did? Who knows. Well, as it happens, 'I' know - Because 'I' played him like a little fishy.
The creation of the 'Trad' forum was absolutely the result of the employment of Troll techniques by the 'RS' crew - 'Swamping' is the term for it. Go Google -
... And Chensvold? Why is the 'Dandy' now all Jazzy & Ivy? Because I whisperd in his ear under a full moon.
Ripples in a pond.
No credit to 'me', but all credit to those who motivated 'me' and those who allowed 'me' to do stuff.
'No one is innocent', as Malcolm used to say!

And anyone can be a Trad or a Chensvold.
Get it yet?
An interesting theory, but I highly doubt that Chensvold managed to score an FIT museum exhibition deal AND a Yale Press book AND get Boyer on board in the, what, ten days since Gall's (er, Gaul) book was announced. And if he did manage to do all that in less than a month, surely he deserves some kind of credit.
Or if you really want to delve into the quagmire of a coincidence-free universe, all credit is due to Hachette Fujingaho for publishing Take Ivy.

Chinny-chenners moves his mercenary army again, he waits for the real deal historic book to come out, and then will regurgatate it in cheap edited form filled with contrite deceitful plagarised prose. But it will still only be a skirmish action, a mere page number in the bigger picture.
He thinks he his a king maker, when really he's just a pawn. But a dangerous pawn at that, a pawn can become queen, and all queens are bitches.
Yes, that exactly, Chenners will just rip it off. And of course add that special, elusive, "sprezza" malarkey.
At that fashion exhibition, there will be mention of literature of the fin de siècle and dandyism that have sweet FA to do with Ivy, but of course everything to do with Chenners the man. The man who wrote cheap copy on the Beats in San Francisco and had the cheek to state he was not bothering to read Kerouac in the coffee shop, but rather some obscure German existentialist writer or some other inappropriate shit.
And I might add, for all those who believe he is misunderstood, went to the City Light Books store and bought "quaint" post cards. The literature and genius part was lost upon him.
The same man, is now in bed with Boyer and curating museum exhibitions.....what credentials does he have to curate anything other than Adam Ants anal passages?
I'm sure he'll send you a signed copy. Don't fret.
