Re: Ivy League style for today

today:

Suede Harrington (light brown, Orvis)
vintage plaid flannel shirt (mainly navy and dark green, black and red and white overcheck, LL Bean)
Merino turtleneck sweater (black, super soft, Smedley)
8-wale Cords, on-seam pockets, hemmed to no break and tapered down to about 17" (khaki, Woolrich)
worn with a medium brown no-name leather belt
cheap charcoal Argyle socks (maybe H&M or Zara?)
Hi Top Playboy style crepes (dark brown, Sanders)

plus a grey herringbone Harris Tweed flatcap (12 € at C&A!)
and a long tan checked lambswool muffler (orange black and blue check, but not a tartan, DAKS)

yesterday:

Italian pea coat (cheap High Street thing, but nice sloping shoulders, got it from a cousin who is a boxer with really wide shoulders)
LL Bean Norwegian
olive LL Bean cords (wider bottoms than the ones I'm wearing now)
black socks, or maybe grey
Paraboot Michaels
some navy wool hat
and a dark green tartan cashmere muffler

last Friday for a Soul Nighter:

navy slip-on fly fronted hand me down from my late Grampa raincoat (my famous blue raincoat)
same dark green tartan muffler as yesterday
greyish blueish Herringbone Harris Tweed three button sack (from forum member Longplaying)
blue Brooks OCBD
olive Khakis (Hilti)
probably black socks, don't remember and
this I remember for sure: quite new oxblood Shell Cordovan longwings (Alden), now with some stones and some glass in the soles...

Imagine the odds on that - being in Bangkok and finding a pair of modern day chinos that are a direct copy of an American WWII pair from a specific month in 1942. You couldn't bet on that shit.

This world is full of small miracles everyday, you just have to keep your heart and eyes open.

Have a good one.

wink

I got flat fronts, though, rather slim, but not skinny... don't like the material very much, but I thought it might be nice for dancing...  I was just wearing the stuff I had worn at the office before....

that reminds me I once wanted to get a "Stihl" chainsaw ad, printed on a tee shirt ... saw that with Judah Bauer (from the Jon Spencer Blue Explosion)...

^ Very good proportions, Sir.

Today I'm in Brown Bass Boatshoes (Natural Shoe Store, Kings Road, when? 88?) & a Navy "J. Press" Blazer with some Khaki LL Bean Cord Chinos & a Loden Andover Shop Shetland. The usual White FOTL T. Shirt & Blue Brooks Oxford Cloth BD also feature...

It's funny I never get bored with all of this...  wink

Good to see you here Sir, adding to the mix. What fabric is your jacket? Clearly it's a tailor made job.

Best,
