I feel a patch job coming on...
An old John Lewis Shetland from about 26 years ago is about to finally go on the left side. It was one of those £19.99 jobs, saddle shoulders, made in Scotland, Mid-Grey with Charcoal flecks.
So -
Best elbow patches? ... Suede might be nice.
I've still never had a jacket go through at the elbow and this is only one of a few Shetlands to have ever worn through too.
I must see what Timpsons have in the window this lunchtime.
It's part of the style. Definitely.
I just don't like it, if I see new jackets with elbow patches for sale.
It's a little bit like buying a ripped designer jeans... you don't look like on of the Ramones with one of these things...
RL do sell Tweed jackets with elbow patches, occasionally.
So do J. Press these days!
Can't say I like the look unless the patches are earned.
And I'd hate to throw a good Sweater away...
I've a Daks tweed jkt with patches on......in their signature check! Something I'd normally avoid but I am quite keen on the jkt, go figure.
Some days I LIKE beans on toast, some days I LOVE beans on toast.......maybe its a mood thing?
