Hi, long time lurker, and regular over at MC.
A few on here know me I think, and as I didn't seem to be getting much back from the folk on there, thought I would sign up and say hello and also ask the same question about repairing a pair of Weejuns.
The stitching on the sole/welt has separated but the shoe is only moderately worn, so don't really want to replace the whole sole, but if I do, who is best to replace them, do you send them back to Bass, or just take them to a good cobbler? Popped into Krantz on Drury Lane, he said he could glue them for now until they need a full re-sole.
Cheers Tom.
Any sympathetic cobbler should be able to sort you out - shipping to and from the US is prohibitive.
Personally, I use that flexible superglue for that kind of thing
Cheers fella. Guess I'll go for the glue for now. They were from Oxfam, only cost me £9.99, and apart from the sole, they are hardly worn, seems odd they owner didn't just get them fixed?
Is Perkins still going on Marylebone High Street?
Other than that talk to John Rushton?
- Perkins re-sewed my Buffalo Creek Traders in '97. Top Job.
Cheers Jim,
I'll try check out Perkins then. Thought I might try 5th Avenue up on Goodge Street too, he's always done a decent job.
Just seen your pics on Modcult & my BCTs went just the same way - I stubbed my toe on a paving stone & it ripped the stitches (although not as far as yours) Perkins just re-stitched.
Good Luck -
This may be the third time I've recommended them. They're unbeatable.

Feel free to re-post here.
Cheers.
Oh yeah, got a missing Tassel too, so if anyone has a spare in burgundy... ha ha ha.
Thanks for all the help folks, much appreciated.

Nice. 90s? A pic of the name on the inside will help to tell you.
The guys at 5th Avenue on Goodge Street do a fine job on repairing my Sebagos - I have three pairs that I rotate. They even sold me a very fine pair of Weejuns a couple of years back.
