Alexander's cords, Weejun? They look good.

Really nice casual outfit, 1966. Jealous of those popovers. Maybe JS will do them in his new range?

Weejun in Wallabees... who'd have thought. Love these shoes, that toe shape makes so much orthopedic sense.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Yup. Padmore and Barnes.

My first pair were Sebago from John Simons in the 80s. I actually thought they were the originals as back then I only ever saw Americans wearing them! I was amazed when I discovered that Clarks were the original. It was a classic case of a company losing its roots with the Wallabee and the Desert Boot back then..

Re: Ivy League style for today

Yesterday, a quick trip into work and then on into the Hague to visit my muccas in the jazz shop:
OCBD blue university stripe
Steppin' Out olive chinos
Alden saddle oxford in the iGents masturbatery #8
A Lacoste pale imitation of the G8 in black and if reversed cream

Thankfully, the jazz shop is not closed, the new owner is now charge and is a man of some vision and has a steady stream of Mosaic box sets and Japanese imports on the way. I came out with Japanese import editions of Hampton Hawes: The Trio Vol 1, 2, 3 on Contemporary from 1955/56. Also the expanded and revised edition of the book 'Black Nationalism and The Revolution in Music', which is now renamed 'John Coltrane and the Jazz Revolution of the 1960's' by the controversial Frank Kofsky.

Then I went to the Windmill micro-brewery in Bodgrevan bought some beer and spent the afternoon getting slowly pissed round at a friend's who works in the investment side of the insurance business. He tells me that Goldman Sachs are everything as twisted and reptile like as imagined with their tentacle and claw like fingerprints all over this recession.

^Indeed, they're also a shoe that works tremendously well in cordovan. They shine up better than the Long Wing, may be they're the only shoe that works in cordovan.
