Last week at 11 in the morning, an aristocratic looking bum picking bananas from the market's garbage.
Good hair, dreamy gaze, tartan muffler hanging perfectly lined with the proper length beige mac.
Elegant!
I just saw our postman was wearing loafers too...
Mr. Gibson Gardens reported the other day that he had seen some very nice Ivy on some nice people out East. Shoreditch? Can't remember. It was some nice bar or eatery and well cut Chinos, Seersucker & kosher loafers were spotted.
Signs & portents.

This bum looked more like an upper class feller still wearing his 1960s gear. Which is a rare sight. I sometimes spot some well cut combinations, but full fledged, properly considered Ivy is very rare around these parts. Can't remember the last time I saw it.
Some of them may sport the old ralphified prepped up fourth generation bastard gear. It's fashionable you know.
A chap the other day walking through Spitalfields(towards Brick Lane? I was coming from) wearing a navy lacoste polo, selvedge denim with a turn up and burgundy tassled loafers without socks. He was carrying a bag of some kind by the handles over is shoulder and was wearing Ray Ban aviators. Shortish hair, neither overly neat nor scruffy. Looked like he knew what was up...
I think i might have to rock his look...saw some neat Alden loafers in a vintage shop today...a worthwhile buy perhaps...
Good to see you back posting Adam.
Had to be a spot of retail therapy today after one of my colleagues was nearly killed in an accident, unfortunately one of the manufacturer's representatives who was standing next to him is brown bread. One meter away from him.Big investigation, Health & Safety, police, our own. The usual techniques to apportion blame on the individual and not the dysfunctional organisation.
Anyway, was in that Steppin' Out Shop in the Hague - some interesting button downs purchased: blue university stripe, blue mini-houndstooth, excellent navy and red repp tie and an olive pair of chinos that need to be altered somewhat. All good stuff and readily available for the masses, the business casual crowd, the average punter on the street and this is how it should be.
