One of the leading causes of blindness in Africa is a worm that enters via exposed feet. I hope someday to have a few more shoes beyond my 3 pair. I love nice things. I am a materialist. But there is a point where such over indulgance is repungnant. It explains why some people are shot with small caliber pistols in revolutions and the family billed for the bullet.

This post about figuring out whether buttons are plastic or pearl, although undoubtedly correct, is a bad encouragement for iGents. It encourages them to bite shirts in department stores or surreptitiously grab buttons at shirt maker's premises and nibble them It is reminiscent of the way Underdog's alter ego, shoe shine boy, used to bite coins he was given as a tip.
