I agree with Tony. I frequent another forum and a member announced he was CONSIDERING a navy enlistment. People were posting 'thankyou for your service'
which has as much sincerity as 'have a nice day.' By that measure I deserve a ticker tape parade on my good conduct medal alone. I wont hold my breath. I am a Baby boomer, children of 'the greatest generation' who raised us to be the worst. and we couldn't even win vietnam as a VFW post commander informed me angrily as if a football record run was broken.Most of our commercial pilots come from the military. Many serve minimal 7 year committments and resign to fly the friendly skies. Teaching somebody to push F 16s isn't cheap. My  contract was 6 years just pushing a motor life boat.
