Graph check shirt

Is anyone else a fan? Heavy Tweed Jacket recently did a piece which started me thinking.

I have one, white check on Cambridge blue ground, short sleeved broadcloth, BB Makers and very nice too, one of my favourite summer shirts.

I`m particularly fond of it because it`s similar to the one Sonny Clark is wearing on the cover of his Leapin` and Lopin`

I have a Mercer version of the graph check. It's incredibly versatile, but I like it best with a grey herringbone/dark knit tie combo. It also pairs well with a suit.

Count me in too - Blue on White. A nicely subtle change from a mini-Tattersall.

Got it.

Generally, the subtle, looks-solid-from-a-distance, patterns are very versatile.

i've got only one example of that bauty, an old, battered brooks brothers makers one, found on a flea market in rural southwestern finland, three years ago. a great summer shirt.

Re: Graph check shirt

I'd never seen it in the wild, but ever since HTJ's post I've been pinching pennies for a graph check Mercer.

Love that type of shirt.  Among my faves.  Andover has done them.  I have a few from New & Lingwood.  Maybe more Brit than American, though we've certainly got them here.  Notice Mercer has one in their latest swatch mailing.
