A random stroll through Fedoraville...
I know, I know, no one is making me go and look and she's my avatar, but boy, am I getting sick of this one and her NYRangerRob model career posing:

2 reasons why women always have and always will do this better than men:

Let's face it, women own the whole clothes thing. We might have forced it on them, used it to enslave them, blah blah blah which is probably all true, but they now own it. Re-enactors and hobbyists aside, women's attitudes to clothes seem a lot more reasonable than men's. You won't see them making the horrible mistakes that our Trad friends at Andy's do. Are there any women Trads? If I saw a woman wearing for causal or daytime wear what was worn by upper middle class women on the East Coast 40-50 years ago I'd think she was deranged. I don't know if I've seen anyone wearing it in the last 40 years. The women rarely look back but when they do get it so much more right than we do.

Simple heel replacement solves the issue. What is the problem ?
I never want to revisit that thread--way too much Cruiser content--but after slogging through Cuffy's overwrought prose I remember something about the courtroom being occupied and controlled by a subset of over-educated millionaires none of whom own or would dream of wearing a black suit. Cuffy, rather than decrying the inherent injustice in this situation, seems to be happy to be a part of it. To make sure everyone knows where he belongs he demonizes the black suit which is obviously seen only on Prosecutors, Legal Aid attorneys, and indigent defendants. In Cuffy's world the black suit is a good enough reason to ignore and minimize the importance of that particular subset.

My Pet, a Pantsuit muses about his bygone fondness for tweed in a blast furnace. As a bonus, CuffDaddy's tailor chastises him for wearing his jacket behind the wheel.
Edited for usage.

It would be a brave if not foolhardy anthropologist who took on men's clothing. The animal kingdom is easy; either the male or female is gaudy and or of extreme morphological design. It wasn't to long ago, A trained eye could identify different villages by costume detail or even a cowboy's region by the crease and size of hat.
The whole igent, trad ad nauseum seems a desperate attempt to impose a mythos on a storyline never read or even a glance at the profuse illustrations.
The other Levi showed up at the gold fields, bought some frog sailcloth and made pants. The ONLY redeeming virtue of which were durability. More 49ers died from simple exposure (half came without so much as a tent and had to dig hovels before gold) than all other causes. I read Claude twice through in anticipation of a teacher who adored him. GIGi and I spent the rest of class time seducing a naive freshman.
"The Raw and The Cooked' is a seminal work, but I prefer "Saudade do Brasil". Civilization started when we started to boil food - you're simply delish.
He took some interesting photos with early Voigtlander's on Sao Paulo when it was a small provincial back in the day. I once tried to follow in his footsteps and take photos with the Leica reedition of the Barnack 'O' Series from about 1924, in those exact same spots in Sao Paulo, but as it was in 2003. I actually did go one long weekend from Rio, it didn't work out, too many dangerous street kids, and difficult to find those locations.
