Love – Forever Changes
The Monks – Black Monk Time
Q65 – Nothing But Trouble (1966-1968)
The Music Machine – Turn On
The Sonics – Here Are The Sonics/Boom
Ah, The Monks! A legitimately weird record.
Mothership Connection - Parliament (two votes for that on here - amazing)
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie
Swing Along With Me - Frank Sinatra
The Tokyo Blues - Horace Silver
For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music
I stand to be corrected but wasn't that his biggest selling record, awful though it is?
The album that best represents the West Coast sound to me, is 'Lighthouse at Laguna'. Excellently recorded with Hampton Hawes, Red Mitchell, Shelly Manne, Bud Shank, Bob Cooper, Barney Kessel amongst others and Howard Rumsey himself on bass. Tremendous versions of Witch Doctor, 'Round About Midnight and that's just the two opening tracks.
December 1955 never sounded better!
way too hard..some records I really like, couldnt do a top 5 job.
