Re: M&S oxford shirts

I've a chum who's just snagged the Pink with the Blue hairline stripe & White boarder & I was very impressed with the collar roll for M&S - Quite a high collar too for them.

Ivy for everyone, eh?  wink

Re: M&S oxford shirts

I often go into their flagship branch at Camberley Surrey its there biggest store in the country, its not all good.
But they do seem to be trying a little, harder lately.
Some nice Smedley type 3 button jumpers, Cardigans , silk socks , and underwear.
If your going on holiday there searsucker shorts are quality very ivy in my book.

I saw some nice Blue Oxford cloth shorts in one of their branches yesterday too - Flat front & a good length.
As you say there is some good stuff if you keep looking.

Re: M&S oxford shirts

I find M&S Oxford shirts fray.

Pockets I can understand, because I have to stick soddin security passes and train tickets somewhere - but the collars fray too. So that cannot be my fault.

I am thinking the old polycotton had its strengths(quite literally). I still have some Van Heuson half sleeves I got at an outlet near Lake Tahoe and no signs of wear. No back button on the collar and a lining inside the collar(unlike the old days) but much nicer checks than I could find in England ... and cheap.

Re: M&S oxford shirts

I must admitt , I work in an enviroment where I can get away with wearing Polo shirts , in fact theres no dress code. So I rarely wear a collar out.
I only wear formal shirts in my own time socially.  mostly.
I,m polo mad really.
If I,m abroad I stock up on Lacoste, and love GANT casual wear.
And luckily my son works for Fred Perry, which has its advantages.
