I've decided to pre-order mine from Amazon well in advance instead of waiting until just before going on holiday (late August). This is something many of us have been waiting for, having heard bits of gossip about it via the forum for quite a long time. It's going to be massive for those ITK. Brooks and the like could do themselves a bit of good by having it for sale by the till. If they've got the nous. Signed copies should sell like hot cakes.
Many thanks for that link, Moose. I wish I knew how to do these things.

Pre-ordering from Amazon is much more difficult than posting those links ![]()
I thought I had 'Take Ivy' on preorder too but just saw I didn't.
I wonder if Mr Gaul will be in a position to offer a sneak peek at an excerpt or two?

You can always ask him.
Funnily enough, I think I'm going to pass 'Take Ivy' up in favour of the Graham/John offering. I got tired of the hype when the thing was still rarer than the First Folio. I'm not saying that it wasn't a labour of love for the guys who put it together, but I know, I really know, how precious this is to John.
I'm down for both.... Autmn is going to be quite a season if JS's new venture is launched then too. My tweed jacket is ready and waiting...........
Ah, that new shop. Like Manuel, I'm afraid, 'I know nothing'. Hope they staff it carefully.

With plenty of sockless with shorts and madrassy hatty days in the sun & the "tropical" setting of the Essex coast - strawberrys and cream - cold wine with a picnic - (sweating cobs digging in the crates in the corner of a smelly record shop)
English summers are great when it's like this!
But yes, I'm already thinking of what lies ahead in the autumn.
Aren't seasons brilliaaaaaaaant ?!

Its meant to be in September. Hope the online shop is up and running then too.
Of course, there's three books coming out. The final in the trilogy, Boyers and Chinny-Chenners book will be journalestic edited highlights of the other two books combined. And a dash of the Preppy Handbook.
That way, the won't have to do any research. They will just plagiarise everyone elses work.

Word Si! I mean, I'm all for living in the now - but seasons...... I couldn't live anywhere that doesn't have them.
Long time no see by the way - Sheffield 2007 I think.

Think you could be right - time flies !
Give us a shout next time you come down to "that London" - lots of regular nights on at the moment.
Maybe they'll be a book launch or an opening party for the shop ?? - If not I'm sure we could arrange an unofficial meet and drink ?

Will do Si, I'm planning a trip to Ham Yard in September - hopfully will tie it in with much Ivy based activity (this means, of course, shopping).
The weeks are going by and my pre-order is ready and waiting. This is the one. I have a feeling there'll be a second print run quite quickly and the first batch will be going for black market prices.
Oh Christ I hope so. Maybe I can retire at 45 and buy a villa in Tuscany, kids speaking Italian, swimming in the pool, sipping Brunello and grappa. Pre-orders on Amazon are pretty strong. One thing that made me laugh was seeing the editor of the book, a very sweet but rather straight man, wearing a pair of brand new Bass Weejuns the other day! He has been Ivyied up by The Ivy Look!
g.g.
Stock has been checked in at the port and is on a lorry on the way to the distributor as we speak. Books should be despatched to customers in a few weeks. I bet you lot think it's shit when you see it. I have this awful nagging fear... It's good for the bog anyway.
g.g.
I'm hoping to have it in my hands just as I arrive back from St. Servan in early September.

you shouldn't give the kids too much grappa, but I hope it's gonna work out like this for you! Nice stuff about your editor... Ivying up friends and family is a noble business!
I have mine on order, I look forward to reading it, but what on earth do I wear whilst reading! MMmmmmmm.
Ho hum
Mines on order from Amazon too, I'm hoping it will arrive in time to take away with me to California. I shall while away the hours by the pool reading it.
GG rest assured there is no possibility that it could ever be shit.
