Please welcome Runic, who had the good taste to accept my Buffalo Creek. Swedes, where are you?
Apparently there is a Finnish publisher interested in buying Finnish language rights to THE IVY LOOK (out soon folks...). Scandinavia - it's the new Ivy frontier.
g.g.
If jazz has managed to find a home in nearly every country, Ivy has a fighting chance. They'll all be able to buy from John online.
Spreading the gospel with every step... but heikki k. is the true ivy brother, I'm just an apprentice. They call him "The Colonel" here, did you know.
GG: Interesting news on The Ivy Look!
I've been following this forum for years but haven't been contributing much. Hope to write more in the future.
I agree with Runic, Heikki is the cheif of the Nordic ivy tribe! I actually met him in Stockholm years ago, very friendly and funny.
I believe there's a future for ivy in Sweden - there is no strong original Swedish style so Swedes tend to look abroad for inspiration and pick things from different places, a magpie nation. At the the moment there's a buzz over everything ivy but sadly the preppy thing is even bigger.
Runic + L Budd, welcome over!
Not sure of the colonel / chief / whatever thingy tho' i may be a bit severe at times but.. not nearly as sour IRL as i'm on the piccies (well occasionally i am even worse i must admit, just ask my missus..) my mum told me not to smile in photos, ever. i'm a good son, listening to my ma'.
budd, what you say about about ivy in sweden applies to finland as well (esp. the part about having no original style). here, also, there's a bit of interest uprising but sadly, ivy gets mixed with and is overtaken by preppy in many ways.
swedish fashion designers (our legacy comes first to mind) seem to have borrowed / stolen ivy ideas for quite a while now. here, however, none of that exists: our fashion industry is tiny, and most of it is for women or ugly looking print shirts (all generalizing about the matter is entirely on purpose).
thats a badassed jacket,colonel. make?
