Troy Guild and Lion of Troy

Troy, I think, is an area of NYC.  Any relationship between the two shirtmakers?

Re: Troy Guild and Lion of Troy

Troy Guild was based in Troy and Glens Falls, both north of Albany (not very close to NYC).  Lion of Troy was originally a brand of the United Shirt & Collar (later Lion Shirt & Collar) of Troy.  I'm not aware of any direct connection between the two.  Troy was the center of US shirtmaking in the first half of the 20th century, there were several shirtmakers with factories there.

Ah, I wonder if that's where John Simons and Jeff Kwintner took the name 'Albany' from?  Thanks for this.
