Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

It's simple why so many of those posters dress worse than the average person they claim to dress better than. It's simple but many of them will never transcend the issues. The enormous judgments they levy upon others; the seeing things the way they want to, rather than the way they really do, the inability to see all clothes as an integral rather than the inseparable layers that they represent. The need for bright line rules just doesnt exist in clothing and if one continually wastes their time with artificial categories beyond a preliminary reaction , they risk being perpetually locked in the bathroom stage.

The amazing defensiveness coupled with a misplaced know-it-all  approach ensures they can never break free. It's like watching the poor seated spectator's in Plato's cave who remain locked in their own proto-autistic world while you try to scream to them about the completely different, real world just a few feet away.

No one person owns clothing or style, not even dandies. The talent is to do the best with what you've got or improve on what exists both in terms of specific articles and how those around you dress. Dandies simply outdo everyone else.

Poor kid. Everything is too big except the sleeves which are too small. The good news is that Zach likes it, thereby confirming that it is completely crap.
