The Box...

Rarely watch TV.  Only the news and occasional gardening programmes.  Old comedy etc. on video or DVD is always much appreciated:

Dad's Army
Steptoe And Son
Hancock
Porridge
Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?
Fawlty Towers
Father Ted

Who likes what?

Re: The Box...

Certainly Mister Vague. I'm not saying there's not some great comedy around today (although it all does seem to come from the States). But for sheer quality of writing and performance you simply cannot beat the Steptoes, Hancocks et al.
It may be a cliche, but what other TV shows can make you laugh and cry in one 30 minute episode. Beautiful stuff...

Re: The Box...

I really liked the Sopranos and Dexter (at least the first season)...

there's a nice topic now on arte (German/French TV channel): summer of the sixties (including everything from the 50s to the 70s)... last week a nice docu on James Dean!

“No Room For Squares”
