Re: The Ivy Book

When the Ivy Look goes to hardback they should commission Jimmy to author the dust jacket. I believe could do a really good job on the flaps....... wink

Re: The Ivy Book

Seriously - and with no disrespect to JG - it seems highly improbable that Graham Marsh would offer anything half-cocked.  His album covers books have been acknowledged classics since before I had to shave each day; not always easy to get your mitts on.

Re: The Ivy Book

This is going to make its co-author a figure to be reckoned with, and rightly so.  Graham Marsh requires no introduction.

Re: The Ivy Book

I'm a tad irritated at the way the 'Ivy Style' website has posted recent pieces about Autumn being a key month in the resurgence of 'the Ivy/Preppy trend' (sic), citing the publication of Take Ivy and the updated Preppy Handbook as key elements. Yet not a word about The Ivy Look which comes out in a few weeks. Most disingenuous, and rather petty and spiteful I feel. I ought not to worry though as I know for a fact that a very large number of Americans are pre-ordering from Amazon UK as the book isn't out in the US until next Spring. So somehow the word is out there in spite of a studied indifference from some quarters.

g.g.

Re: The Ivy Book

The game appears to be gravitating: eastwards.  Sweden, Finland, Slovenia.  Japan, it goes without saying.  My guess is, though, certain sussed Americans will reinvent, rediscover - call it what you will.  It really doesn't matter where, as Ian Strachan says it's about keeping the old tradition alive.  Yes, someone had to take the ball and run with it.  Russell Street tries to keep a tight hold of it.  It's down to Patrick's team to wrestle it back from the goddamn Limey...
