Our dear American brothers ought to rise up en masse and Out Face me with their superior style knowledge and taste. Nothing would make me happier.
The world needs more proper Ivy in it.
Now, that's a thread that makes me happy!
Not long now, and the excitement is mounting. This is definitely going to be the one - and co-inciding with the opening of the new shop.
The book has been seen & admired. My review copy is on its way (one of my gigs is now in publishing).
It's all happening!
another bump for this...
otherwise this board would be full of non-Ivy-topics... Small Faces, Motown, Skinheads and Reggae...
Mr. Paolo Hewitt is a fan!
- Seriously -
We chatted yesterday & today & he's very impressed.
Got himself an advance copy, has he? Or is he just responding to rumours?
Probably got his tongue up some one else's crack so he could get a peek. Bit pissed off he's seen it. I want just 20 sussed people to buy this book. Don't give a shit if we don't make a penny.

Bravo, that man! I almost choked when I read Jim's posting.
Oh, you all know me... I cover the waterfront... ![]()
Seriously, what I'm hoping for, as a follow-on, is one of those lovely album size books GM is so famous for. Coffee table? Nah. Just a lovely thing to hold in your lap on a quiet Sunday afternoon and dream... dream... dream...

Me too.
Maybe I'm a closet Jesuit... I just see the steps on the ladder to be climbed before we all get to enjoy the view from the top. And anybody who can help in our mutual ascent is of great interest to me.
What I don't lose sight of in all of this is that there is only one ladder that my attention is fixed on.

Not rich yet able to pursue his gentlemanly interests. You know what I'd like? More for my wife really. A walled garden.
You know what I'd like? More for my wardrobe really. More shoes.
Okay. A couple of pairs of old Weejuns or Sebago might not go amiss. Those Astronauts are going back into the garden.
If I ever get a wife I hope I will become less self-centred (or maybe the other way around might be a better option) so I'm not knocking your priorities Mr Panic.
