I'm not sure if you are speaking strictly UK here but Ivy was very much fashion. Once it spread from campuses it became a style that was sold and marketed like everything else. The marketers of Ivy League clothing were as much as selling an idea of the clothes as the clothes themselves. This is pretty well documented in the period ads that have shown up here and elsewhere. Of course if you are only talking about Ivy in England I suppose my point is moot.

surfers did the saggy pants crap? i thought that had something to do wif gangstas in prison-predominant stories are that a)they take your belt away in prison so your pants sag or B) less likely story, its a way of showing your avalilability for sex.
