Cotton vs Linen Pocket squares in the 50s and 60s
Today linen and linen/cotton pocket squares are very popular.
I have been told that cotton was the standard pocket square in the past - at least on the East coast of America New York to Boston.
Has anyone observed times or geographic areas where linen pocket squares were more popular?

here in the midwest, never seen anything besides a plain "hanky" til recently. i assume the ones of my youth were cotton if not blend. white; pastels would be unusual and daring.
I brush my teeth with minty paste/I hate when Liquor goes to waste.

My simply responding to someone else's thread might come as a relief to some of you.
There was a time, in England (and probably across the rest of the UK) when the kiddies used to pull the red lining from the top pockets of their snide crombies, in order to make it look like... something... Posh hohos like Elms maybe used a pin to...
Oh, well... This would be more like circa 1970, so I'm already rambling.
I only use them to wipe my steamed-up glasses or blow my nose into.
