This is what my tastes run to for an everyday look during July and August:

Classic pale blue, white or u.s. Brooks OCBD
Navy v-neck or cardigan.  Wool or cashmere.  Brooks, Alan Paine or Pendleton.
Levis flat-fronted chinos or L.L. Bean jeans with a turn-up.
No socks.
Wine Weejuns.

Now what's wrong with that?

Slip on a McGregor Drizzler or Grenfell if it's wet or windy.

No messing.
