The Button-Down Shirt

All too often a waste of time.  A stylistic cliche.  Your father and your grandfather wear them and they're no more 'Ivy' than my arse.

I'm wearing one right now.  Brooks.

You'll all have an opinion, but if it don't roll, if it lies flat and limp and lifeless...

Why not a neat tab?

Re: The Button-Down Shirt

The only shirt I seriously thought about buying on my travels this morning was an old Van H.  And that had a modest spread collar.

I do hope the terminology is precise enough for The Shooman.

Re: The Button-Down Shirt

I really don't want to think about your arse and it being non ivy! Do you class body parts as ivy and non ivy, now that really is "moving beyond Ivy"

How about a club collar? I like em......

Re: The Button-Down Shirt

One of the best shirts I ever owned was a SS claret and blue seersucker with a tab collar.  By Austin Reed.  Looked great beneath a G9 with 501s and Weejuns.
