I am, however, willing to make purchases for those American chaps who would like it sooner. You only have to PM and we can make the arrangements.

Is now £8.44 on Amazon. £8.44!! The cost of a pizza. I am really pissed off about the extent of that Look Inside stuff on Amazon. What's the fucking point in buying the book now?! It'll be removed pronto or I'm not JP Gaul.
g.g.
The extent of the Look Inside stuff on Amazon was a deal clincher for me.
Or at least it would've been if the deal hadn't already been clinched.
Authors mop brows... It's going to be a knock-out...
Just got the 'Look Inside' to work.
Picture of a Creighton shirt in there. Made in NY. I had heard they were manufactured in The South. It had the third button and locker loop. My Ivy Shop, permanent press one had neither.
There is an interesting YouTube video on its contents - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24nWCa7iGBw.
^ Different book Bishop. It is 'The Ivy Look' they are discussing.

Can you remember names from the Ivy Shop? Those Madras shirts you have mentioned sound excellent.
^ No only that one. The label has come off the other one that is still in the wardrobe. I'll never see 15.5 again, but sentimental value.
Yes, I'm now 16.5. It's the waistline that worries me more.
I have the book. On the table in front of me as I type. And, gentlemen all, it has been - and is - worth waiting for.
That Golden Vee on page 66 brings back some memories. I had one from an American woman a few years back. She went round buying up old stock around her area of Pennsylvania.
I forgot I had preordered mine directly from publisher and they charged my card for it so I am assuming it is en route!!
guess I can cancel my amazon order then
I've read it twice... devoured it... it's set me off on the old trail once more... Where's that deadstock Golden Vee?
I honestly don't think Graham and John could have packed any more in for a book of its (handy pocket) size. Even 'Talk Ivy' gets a mention. The quality of the illustrations is superb, including many vintage clothing adverts I've never come across before, and a truly magnificent shot of JFK looking cool in sunglasses and a Shetland sweater. Nice photograph of J.Simons, showing a tidy-looking window, plus references that sent me scurrying to find out more, much more. Steve McQueen and Bill Evans devotees will not be disappointed, nor a Tony Perkins addict like myself.
Five stars for passion*****
Just wondering if it is already available from somewhere or did you get your copy from an inside source? I am very impatiently waiting for the book......
From JG, Fred. It's worth waiting for and I have another copy on pre-order from Amazon.
Thrilled you've been enjoying it RR&P! Graham and I fretted enormously over what went and in and what was left out. It is far from comprehensive but hopefully it reflects our passion for the clothes. If it sells well we may try and pitch for another book. We've spoken about maybe doing a deluxe coffee book version of The Ivy Look, but we'll have to see.

^That makes sense, a Taschen edition?

Something along the lines of GMs previous books would be amazing. I think there's a very nice balance in the present book: something for any discerning individual. I've ordered a book on Klein on the strength of it.
I'm still waiting for my copy of Ivy Look to show up, but what I didnt expect is my copy of Take Ivy showed up today from amazon!! just flipped thru it, but looks good (not sure if it's worth the prices the original sold for on ebay, but a good book for sure). stoked!!
Could a pair of American authors have written this book? You'll all be able to judge for yourselves.

I've got that on pre-order too ![]()
I expect one of the authors to make another appearance on Robert Elms' Radio London show.
Haven't listened for a while. I mostly like the bus route trivia.
