Heavens, Moose, talk about layering; and it still only August. What kind of winter must we be in for?
..same over here. july was damn hot though, + 30° all the way.
i'm surviving the 11° c with basic stuff:
white brooks ocbd
501s
burgundy weejuns
maroon falke socks
natural g 9
For rail travel:
Pale blue Brooks OCBD
Old navy Alan Paine cashmere v-neck
Grey London Fog
Yellow rayon scarf
'Sand' Levis
Falke 'Nutmeg'
English made Clarks' chukka boots
Alden longwings, dark plum socks (Falke), 501's, maroon belt w/a silver buckle, white T underneath a sky blue pinpoint oxford BD (Lacoste) topped of by a burgundy golf jacket (Burberry, esp made for a men's store here in town called Meddens). Gant watch and college-boy haircut...
^sounds v/ nice.
jason, great colours.

^^ heh, I usually "put out" about 10 pairs that I rotate thru, and I have everything else in their boxes in the closet. tbh, I felt kind of embarrassed to post on the how big is your wardrobe thread, as I know I have way too much as a result of collecting over the years. and now am on the path to minimalizing as much as I can
^^ That's enough to satisfy my curiousity
Press are evidently cutting back, sending out funny little card thingies instead of the full catalogue. Still, I won't be paying $300 or whatever it is for one of their fancy peacoats. Amazing. Let them not open a branch in London. Let them remain where they are and have a little think about where they're heading.
what is wrong with their collars? i see them disparaged a lot on here. never seen a press shirt in person.
are they heavily lined?
No more than average, I don't think. I tend to think of a cheapo J.Crew I have as having quite an interesting collar, because it crinkles. Wear it with a repp and you can see the frowns upon the faces LOL of - sometimes - authority: if I've been that least bit reckless. No. I don't know. It's just instinct. Take this morning. I'm wearing quite a nice US-made Baggie u.s., but with the buttons undone. Now, I would not do that with most Brooks. I say 'most', because not all roll at all nicely. In fact, some of these non-iron types, so despised by the hip young London Ivy fraternity, can have a very pleasing roll indeed. Anyway, beside an English imitation of a button-down, most look better.
