No.
can probably get away with it over there. or if youre a college kid and obviously goofing off. anyone else, if they arent physically on a yacht or golf course, risks looking like theyre off to master dick's play fort for a dressup slumber party with pinky. bring your own adorable RL slippers!
"if you let me try on your cute lobster pants ill let you do my hair....."
Nothing wrong with them, as it were. an attractive shade. I can see them doing well over in england. just not here.
a lot of good colours for chinos: from that off-white/ natural/ beige spectrum, that slightly more tan "gold dusty" hue and the even darker "British Khaki" a la LL Bean, olive, of course, and a light stone grey....
you don't need it...
I like the name, because I think of Melville, but I don't like the colour...
I don't think that someone can convince me that they can look good on others, but I'm sure they're not for me!
wouldn't touch those khakis with lots of little lobsters or ducks either, and thinking about those, Nantucket Reds sound good again...
when we were kids, we were obsessed with getting the "right" khaki-a rich shade, with a green tint to the brown. a grey tint meant "also ran, department store" clobber. now that im older, stone or pale grey does it for me. but it has to be just that, not taupe, or greyish khaki.
dont wear green pants anymore. not sure why.
"mister green jeans" was a popular kids tv show here in the 60s/70s, still on occaisionally in the early 80s.
Nantucket Reds are a niche product, aimed at a particular American target market. I don't wear pink or even much red but I can see how they may suit some.
You'll be able to read all about them in The Book.
I'd wear them. But then, I also own cherry-picker trews (probably the only person in North London).
This is what makes you interesting, zucker. You go your own way.
I try. But you got a point there- I'm not trying to be obnoxious and a 'supercilious prick' (as a friend described me recently) for the sake of it. I just see things from my own skewed perspective.
