Mine wasn't supposed to be dispatched until much later and then I got the email saying it was on it's way......

Re: The Ivy Book

Neither was mine Fred.

I checked the order status after seeing your post.

It's still stating an expected delivery date of September 24, but I'm assuming this simply needs updating if the order is indeed being prepared for dispatch.

I'm an avid reader across many subjects, and I'm seldom without a book, so I think it only reasonable that I can be so excited smile

I wish I hadn't opted for the free super saver delivery option.

Unfortunately it's a traditional Yorkshire trait that I just can't seem to shake off.

Re: The Ivy Book

Amazon want £5.33 to deliver to me, almost as much as the book.

And you'll still probably have it before me.

If it makes you feel better... wink

£5.33?

Where are you that they require so much?

It makes me feel marginally better wink

Re: The Ivy Book

According to Amazon I live in 'Europe Zone 1', which sounds a little post-apocalyptic.

Re: The Ivy Book

Ahh, that explains it then.

They'll need to hire Mad Max to deliver it.

Would've cost you a fortune if it hadn't been for his racist/sexist/whateverist comments wink

I did likewise.

'Abigails Party' is arriving first under separate cover. The book and 'Kind  of Blue' make up the rest of the package. I will play the CD in the car. I need to be doing something else to listen to it. Soundtrack type of music.

An Indian at work used to canvas others to place joint orders & make use of the free delivery. He was also really keen on Wetherspoons' vouchers.

Thrilled you've been enjoying it RR&P! Graham and I fretted enormously over what went and in and what was left out. It is far from comprehensive but hopefully it reflects our passion for the clothes. If it sells well we may try and pitch for another book. We've spoken about maybe doing a deluxe coffee book version of The Ivy Look, but we'll have to see.

Just got mine yesterday - great prose - fantastic pictures and overall content seemed just right for an excellent  overview of "the look".

Obviously, I can imagine there were areas (probably all actually) that you could have expanded on  but then you would have needed to cover them all to keep the "balanca" of the book and then it would have become a different beast altogether at double the size.

Speaking of which, I like the sound of a deluxe bonus version with "extras"  - consider that a "pre-order" gentlemen!

>>>Incidentally, Mr G -  i might add that a certain "weekend dancer" newsletter back in 84 found it's way from The Dolphin Club in Liverpool to a young schoolboy in Bolton with a boating blazer- and was a big instigator in setting me off in the "right direction" of modernism <<<<

I think the point is just to inspire & to captivate. To celebrate the style, not to lay claim to it or to do any of those stupid OPH things.

And so - It works!  And then some!

My profound thanks to the authors.

Re: The Ivy Book

I have spent a small fortune on Amazon over the last couple of years, I preordered both The Ivy Book and Take Ivy last month, and neither has been dispatched yet.  What?

It's worse than waiting for clothes.
