Both blogs got mentioned in the Ivy Look.
The latter is a straightforward blog with old ads etc from over the years.
Garmsville is a British blog that touchs on Ivy from time to time. Apparently run by somebody called Jason Jules. He could have come straight from the cast of 'Round the Horne'. There is some good stuff on it though. I wonder if Jason Jules had a Hoxton Fin?
Jason Jules is a beautiful black man who dresses in the finest, hippest Ivy League. An icon for modernists of my vintage he was often spotted strolling enigmatically through Soho in single breasted Burberry raincoat, madras b/d, half mast Levis, no socks and black tasseled Weejuns. I think he'd call it French Ivy. He makes Ivy interesting and has great taste. I can just about take the trad angle on Ivy, the studied anti-contemporary approach, the fogeyism, it's kind of acceptable, but I find characters like Jason Jules much more interesting. They take Ivy and make it fresh and relevant. I'm all for mixing it all up a bit. I mean, look what happens when you think Ivy is all about wearing a button-down and a blazer and hating the modern world and pop culture and all that - you end up with PJ O'Rourke as your pin-up boy.

Good username gm7
Jaspn Jules is a great supporter of JS, besides many references on Garmsville I have also read a poem/spoken word piece by him where he mentions JS. There is a great photo of Jules somewhere on line looking great in a shortish camel duffel, Levis, dessies and (presumably Stetson) cap........sharp.
Dude!
Yes, I like the look of him - although he looks different to how I imagined. So often the case, about people or places.
Graham Marsh = creative type. Very Soho?
Really enjoyed the Garmsville blog, our man's a kindred spirit as far as I'm concerned.
Some of the usual suspects being heralded (Newman, McQueen) but he also pointed me to Shawn Stussy's blog - while I was wearing my old Stussy sweatshirt.
There, Paul and Steve popped up again, in a similar non-canonical context.
Good stuff.
