RR & P beat me again! He floats like a butterfly ....
You might fancy the Weston, fq, if they're your size.
It's postings like that that I'm here for. Forget all my waffle, guys like farrago are the real deal. Superb.
I could not agree more - this is much more than I had hoped for, thank you so much for sharing.
I think I,ll try the Shamrock approach and keep this page free of pix. A dark olive ,with hints of blue, Harris Tweed sack, 43/4 ?
A charcoal shetland herringbone Brookstweed, 42 R. Two vintage English made lambswool cardigans from Brooks, medium grey and burgundy, both tagged 42 R. A black Thuleknit saddle shoulder shetland, made in Scotland, medium I think. Bottle green shetland, made in England for Marshall Fields, tagged a large, and a rust coloured Robert Bruce virgin shetland. ,tagged a medium, made in the US. A pair of Berle tailored ,natural colored, poplin pants 35 - 30 with 1.75 cuffs, they look to be a nice cut. I also have a pair of Bean bluchers with little wear, US 9 and a nice pair of what I think are vintage Cole Haan beefrolls, US 10D.
-44L (or a longer 44 R) brooks gray herringbone sportcoat. 3/2, raised seam on lapel, sack,2 on cuff. flap pockets. late 70s-early 90s.
-43R (fit like a modern 41R) chipp suit jacket, charcoal. 3/2,hook vent, 2 on cuff, pick stitching on lapel. 50s-early 60s.
-NOS with tags palm beach wash 'n' wear jacket, tan. 2 button sack.
-Capper and Capper british camels hair overcoat.Appears to be never worn, beautiful fabric, 60s or 70s from tag(capper and capper was a downtown chicago traditional clothier. when they closed, it appears that a lot of old stock was unleashed, as i run in to mint items from them constantly). 3 button front. brooks style slanty-vent with extra button fly vent closure. Im a 43, 17x34.5 and it fits me perfectly with a sweater, for wear over a sportcoat or suit id say 39 or 40 reg/short.
-brooks makers tie, common regimental pattern which i believe is argyll and sutherland highlanders (hunter/navy/maroon w/thin yellow stripe).
-sz. 20 brooks boys shop yellow ocbd, great soft heavy oxford.
-sky blue landsend harrington, regular g9 cut (as opposed to their new g4/g10 hybrids) tagged L but fits like a med/small.
also viewed,
-white linen sack, 3 button, some tailor in vietnam, looks never worn. probably a 40.
-L brooks yellow gingham BD.
-gant salty dog, M, 1.5" bars of yellow and white.
-L brooks irish linen blue college stripe,SS.
-16.5x32/3 bd baggies ocbd, pastel green college stripe.
-16.5x33 red college stripe flap pocket ocbd, LL bean.
-46R john weitz mac, white/grey plaid, buckles on cuffs.

While stumbling to the liquor store at 4 in the afternoon yesterday, I stumbled on an immense treasure trove of vintage. She knows what the stuff is worth, unfortunately, but I still should be able to cut deals here and there. It'll take me weeks to dig through this lady's basement, but a few highlights:
-NOS w/tags charcoal suit, light wool flannel, 50s, very small size, my guess 35-37 S. thin lapel,3/2,etc.pants uncuffed and unfinished.
-similarly-sized number in light grey worsted.
-38R olive green wool suit jacket w/vest, all the details, hook vent.50s-60s.
-mustard/maize wool sack suit, very short double vent (reminiscent of suits in the west side story scene that ADAM!! linked). roughly a 37.
-41S olive wool flannel sack suit,3-pc, hook vent, all the details. mint. 50s/early 60s. marshall fields (dunno who their ivy-era supplier was, but their stuff tended to be contracted out to very good makers).
-42S brooks sack suit, charcoal, more recent (80s).
-many other sack suits in irridescent type patterns,tonik/sharkskin type
-large variety of pincord and seersucker suits, several sack, but most darted.
-black/white houndstooth (not mini-houndstooth) 2 button hickey-freeman sportcoat, about 45L.
-mini blk/wht houndstooth "all weather" coat (the weight of a heavy flannel suit, but tight weave) 46.
-large selection of vintage military-issue khakis, as well as zillions of other uniform items (anyone need a sailor suit?)
-ancient brooks makers tux shirt, nice simple pattern,16-4
-millions of lion of troy tux shirts, "dumb 'n' dumber" style.
-millions of vintage tuxes, some 50s era white tie/morning wear (i need an acct. on axe andy, ill be rich)
-several overcoats with "jivy" turnback cuffs
-several hundred-score ties, many unlined/skinny examples in plain and paisley, though no decent repps/stripes.
She offered an especially good wholesale price on the NOS suit, if anyone small is in need of one (its probably not the absolute highest quality, looked to be a mid-level semi-brand, but looks every bit as good as the 60s NOS i see on the Bay.)
OK, now for stuff i actually have;
-brooks yellow gingham bd, L
-NOS w/tags landsend ocbd, widely spaced salmon wide double stripes, 16.5x32/3
-grey herringbone corbin sack,42L
also can retrieve a 40R press camelshair sportcoat (some thin spots, not holes per se, but dunno if theyd brush out), a 42L corbin blazer,a mustard double vented sack, and a gun check jos. a bank ticket pocketed, hook vented (never seen that combo) 44L sportcoat.

I'd go for some of those khakis, Dennis. I'll PM you.
went looking on behalf of 1966, a search of El Barrio has thus far turned up nil on the US made Beefee Teez. Did locate new wrangler slim jeans in cream and tan. also, some pants (new) made of that ultra hard material like old sta-prest. the details were interesting-they had those huge pointed belt loops and frogmouth pockets almost exactly like the dress pants on DNA groove. MOP press stud on back pockets though..... thought maybe some of the mods/skin oriented people might be interested to have them altered. They had dk blue, lt blue, off-white, tan, green and a few brown, in every size but 34.
Also, apologies to people waiting on info about the NOS suits/army khakis. Was headed over there and got call to fix urinal at friend's bar. did not escape bar until recently, due to free nature of beer, but will shoot for tomorrow. Shamrock has not forgotten you!

48L barrington 3/2 sack, patch/flap pockets, hook, 2 on cuff, swelled lapel edge, raised back seam, etc. sage green tinged grey herringbone. immaculate. meas. 25 " pit to pit.
lyttons cricketeer heavy grey herringbone 2 button sportcoat, 60s era w/union tag, soft and close-cut shoulder. patch and flap pockets, swelled seam on lapel, 2 button (leather), single vent, nice roll to lapel, tab closure at top of lapel, mild darting which is hidden by weave and fairly far over to the side. fit (and amount of tapering) is identical to my 42R 346 jacket, a very slim 42, would probably work better for a 40 or even a 38 if worn over a sweater.
xl (17-17.5x32-3) newer sero blue ocbd, blend. feels like regular must-iron.
The Great Allen-Edmonds Shoe company Of The United States Of America 10.5D park avenues (cap toe bals, 300-something dollar formal/business shoes), black calf, very good-newish condition.
