Re: For Sale -

Apologize to people waiting on shipping prices, working past post orifice business hours every day for past 9 or so.

heres what i bagged today,

another 48L grey herringbone sack w/ upper patch, patch/flap lower, 3/2, hook  vent, 2 on cuff, raised seams, etc.

gun check or similar (kind of like the aquascutum check) 39S 3/2, hook sack, light fabric, cotton blend/heavy linen blend/very fine worsted, cant tell. marshall fields, 60s vintage. minty.

18/35 recent makers ocbd, red college stripe.

"brooks basics" 17x34/5 pink ocbd

blue 16/2 brooks ocbd, grren tag

"     "    "    "   pinpoint        "    ".
pink chambray 2 button sack, patch pockets, 39 or 40.
blue makers 3/2 suit jacket, 40 or 42, would make great blazer w/horn buttons.

11 johnston/murphys for capper and capper black longwings, good shape

11D russet grain smooths (similar/identical to ones heikki has posted) good shape

9.5D brooks weejuns, USA, black, great shape.

CORRECTIONS-48L jacket is a kind of gray small check, not a herringbone (same colors as a gray herringbone, though). chambray number is a 38R. brooks measures 21 across cheast, so a 39 or 40.

Re: For Sale -

edit on my last post- was drunk when measuring the brooks suit jacket/blazer. it is clearly marked 44 reg. decently slim lapels despite being 80s vintage, but missing a button (would work best re-buttoned with horn/antler anyway)

Re: For Sale -

Had a good charity shop haul today including 2 nice cashmere crew necks, a Tootal scarf and a great old 'no-name' made in India madras half sleeve. Also picked up a pair of Levi's too good to leave behind that might be good for someone here. They're as new and unworn, old American made 501's in a true dark indigo colour - but a small size. 30 waist with a leg that has been professionally shortened to a 28 1/2. The middle button of the 5 on the fly is missing but is not noticeable when fastened. Please PM me if you're interested. They're yours for the price I paid for them plus postage. Less than a tenner I'd guess.

Re: For Sale -

3 nice ones at the vintage lady today- a cable car jacket, 3/2, hook, in kind of an oxford weave charcoal canvas with wide-spaced thin white stripes (early Who look), "402R" (im guessing a misprinted 40R, as thats what it fit like), a slim 42 H.I.S. clothes 3/2 hook sack in light blue with yellow windowpane, and a very small, NOS (looked to be about a 35S )" indian madras guaranteed to bleed" jacket, 3/2, hook, blazer buttons, kind of an olive madras with yellow striping mainly. the shoulders were faded from being on a hanger for 50+ years, which the current owner seems to think she can "steam out". the first 2 she wanted 50 bucks each for, the last one 40.

Re: For Sale -

I have listed a 1960s Arrow buttondown shirt on ebay tonight.  I bought it a few weeks ago but sadly the sleeves were too short for me.

It's on for 7 days at a starting price of £14.99, which is what I paid for it.

If anyone on here wants it for that price + the p&p  then PM me and I'll stop the auction. Obviously I won't be able to stop the auction once I have had bids on it.

Re: For Sale -

Its the 16/32 sleeves combination that is the problem. An odd sleeve size.

A great shirt though, as long as your arms are short enough.

Re: For Sale -

J Press 3 button soft shoulder  jacket. Light brown herringbone tweed with a muted light blue window pane, 3/2 collar roll, 2 button cuffs, rear hook vent, half lined.

Measurements: underarm to underarm 22", sleeve underarm to cuff 17", sleeve shoulder to cuff 25", shoulder to shoulder across back 18.5", base of collar to hem 32.5".

An ebay purchase that didn't work out for me, I'm a 40R and it's slightly too large. I would say that in M&S speak it's a 42L.  It has been altered very professionally, it could be let out an inch or so but my tailor advises that it couldn't be taken in more without affecting the way it hangs.

I sell it with some regret as it really is a lovely jacket.  I will offer it here before putting it back on the bay.  I'm not looking to make a killing on it just recover the cost of payment for it and the shipping I paid from the US so £35 +£4 postage in the UK.
