Re: Ivy League style for today

The Borscht Belt was in the southern Catskills; I am more north and west. The Buddhist place next door used to be a primarily Jewish resort called ""Goldner's."

That was 30-plus years ago. The Borscht Belt pretty much died by the 1980s, television and cheap airfares to more exotic locales killed it.

But at least he wouldn't have to kill snakes with his bare hands. Or wear flip-flops.

What you choose to do in your cabin in the Catskills, Patrick, is your own affair. Good luck to you I say.

I jest, of course - are you perchance filming a Mexican television programme?

Re: Ivy League style for today

I wear pleated trousers most days.  I went out to buy some fillet steak wearing dark brown cords (modestly pleated), white Brooks OCBD and a dark blue Shaggy Dog.  Cordo wingtips.  Buying a 10-DVD Chaplin collection in 'Help The Aged' the volunteer (American) told me I was looking 'very preppie'.

Patrick - you must read your copy of THE IVY LOOK every day and repeat the mantra, on page 102, 'IVY TROUSERS ARE ALWAYS FLAT FRONT NO MATTER WHAT THE FASHION PUNDITS TELL YOU'. Do this every day for a month and you'll feel better.

^ You can think that because you're English.

I like the book. I keep it in the bathroom, if you get my drift. This is actually a high honor; a lot of reading gets done there.
