Ah, yes, Russell is delusional but Mad Men, now, thats Histruh. Sexy rexy, buddy...bumped into Fratvold at the bar across from this hotel (in saratoga on a steamfitters permit and he seems to have ditched his arraignment), he's got some pirated HBO Dvds he wants to trade, drop him a line.
Enjoying this thread. Hank 4 prez!
To get back to the main point:
Ivy hasn't much to do with the beats... Not in the USA, not in England, and probably not even in Japan...
There are no beats in this forum. And there's nobody playing a beatnik either...
At least not in a serious way...
The poster "The Beatnik" came here, apparently, because he was searching for info about Crepe soled Chukka Boots of the Playboy type. He was trolling a bit, mainly making fun of the clean cut Ivy fans, but meanwhile he got hooked on the clothes, too, I think... He said farewell to the forum and came back as "Beatnik's Ghost". He was banned for something, IIRC, and came back as "Thee Beatnik"...
That's all of the story...
Ah, and 4FHepcat is a big fan of Kerouac...

They're precursers of hippies and Kerouac disowned the lot of them.
So you kind of do 'get it' and yet you don't?
All your arguments are based on taking the 'Russell Street' persona seriously (and you have to be one of only a very few fools on the planet who does, just like Chensvold), but then you immediately say that 'Russell' is just a load of Internet rubbish (which of course he is, just like you, because we are on the Internet). So what's your point? You know something to be a load of messing around online & yet you take it seriously? Surely that makes you an idiot?
I do like your passion though. You might care about a load of piss-taking trolling, but at least you CARE.
