The socks are worth the ticket price alone, very nice, like the line of reddish brown, grey, beige. You can't go wrong.
Started the day optimistically barefooted in Madras walkshorts and Bill's OCBD popover, but the cold and thunder storms came and had to change to 505 Levis, Pendleton Shetland cardigan and Jack Purcells to keep warm. Soon be autumn and time to bring out the corduroy.
Went shopping wearing extra fine merino over a polo shirt. Shivered.
Lands End plaid shirt, over a
Lands End t-shirt

What's a surfer jacket? I like the sound of it
not golf, but tennis jacket, I think.
at least that's ye olde Brooks Brothers terminology.
you might as well call it a windbreaker or a blouson or a bomber jacket and I'm sure there's lots of other words...
"surfer jacket" was used in some Richard Allen novel, IIRC.
"monkey jacket" is what your parents would have called it, back in the old days.
I think Jeff Dexter and Lloyd Johnson called it "Action jacket", but that word might as well be their term for the golf jackets...
