I bought an old pair of these Saxone 'Weegians' (as they used to brand them) from Johnny Simons just before he closed. They are really fabulous shoes - proper oxblood, unlined, leather heels. Amazing that these basic, classic Made in England shoes are not sold in the UK. One sees them everywhere in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and, occasionally, in France. The British toff doesn't particularly go for the loafer I feel, always preferring those tedious British brogues or oxfords. Has the best stuff in the UK always been 'made for export'?
All a bit hipster but some nice Alden photos all the same.

I've a guy on my Facebook page selling some deadstock Weejuns... He's OK. Always stick to PayPal.
I bought myself a pair of Weston loafers yesterday, in burgundy...

They remind me a little of rats trying to find the way into a maze.
Care to talk us through?
Nothing to loaf at.
(I know you all wanted to do it, but didn't dare.)
I get Wallabees, but I just don't like the way they look on my foot when I look down.
Love mine - but I know what some folk mean, it's all about the trouser, has to be perfect to carry the look off.
